- It is just not so..
-
Well this is just a bunch of $%^& it is so easy to setup VOIP it is child's play.
The "big guys" need some reason to tack on some fees and charges.
If you think that your phone service is hardline to hardline when you call outside your local calling area BOY ARE YOU LIVING IN THE PAST.
every major carrier dumps the call on IP network as soon as they can..they route the packets over the cheapest bandwidth.
It has been that way for YEARS...they save money and jack-up your bill.
THAT IS THE AMERICAN WAY....
Stick it to the little guy is the Motto of most big companies..
How many of you get millions in bonus for showing a profit and lost statement with the company losing millions if not billions a year???
Think back when the other Phone companies all where fussing about MCI routing calls over the IP network and not paying "fees" to route the calls.
Well it turned out that hey they were all doing it
and that MCI had just done it better (CHEAPER)
And yes some folks invent because they must the drive is there and must be answered.
The VOIP world is full of those folks.
Try
http://www.freeworlddialup.com
http://www.sipphone.com
and many other
gee a few folks have built a WORLDWIDE VOIP network
I can call or get calls from over 170 countries
from over 130,000 people....ALL FREE...
Well I do have my broadband / VOIP bill each month of less than hundred bucks...but Hey I can call anyone I wish to in US (48 states)and Canada and in most cases the call is better than my cell phone.
And back when my Ole Lady got deployed I SAVED BIG BUCKS on long distance and many of her unit got to use "Bubba Telco" to make FREE CALLS to their loved ones here in states.
For a few dollars a couple of FXO / FXS devices and a remote ATA device and BAM "FREE CALLS FOR ALL".
VOIP gotta love it.
Many who used the phone where sure it was some type of Govt. thing. where it was just some one who wish to speak to his woman without paying a ton of money to AT&T / sprint / mci or whoever..
The problem is not the standards it is companies who wish to lock out the guy.
Powell had it half right..hands off but only if they all agree on a standard and stick to it.
NO MORE OF THE WIRELESS STANDARD JOKE.
Pick a standard and use it...or face the govt. getting into the mess and then we will never see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Speak with the only thing BIG COMPANIES UNDERSTAND...MONEY..MONEY...MONEY...
Out signup with vonage / sipphone / packet 8 one of the VOIP comapanies...call your "Landline" phone service tell them to remove any long distance service and stop adding on those Voice Mail fees and all that other "added value" they stick you with each month.
Force the Big Guys to play fair...YEA RIGHT...
Only by my leaving you Baby Bell
will you see my true worth
