I was going to purchase Systemworks 2004, but will be purchasing Fix-It Utilities 5 instead.

Just like last year when I purchased TaxCut instead of TurboTax (which I had been using since it started being sold years ago).

Microsoft is really the only company that can get away with this nonsense because they have people in a "no choice" position.

Adobe is trying it, but I hear they are feeling the heat a bit, and it may not last long.

When you have a choice, voting with your wallet _does_ work in some cases. Intuit backed down. I suspect Symantec will too when they learn just how much their customers despise such draconian, troublesome technology. It may take a bit more time with Symantec though. They tend to be a bit hard-headed when it comes to their customers.
