Not exactly Jeff: I'm not willing to go as far as you here.

Although I will say that there have always been people in positions of power who want to expand governmental/police powers and these people will take advantage of every opportunity to do so.

I will agree that people should always question their government and never give the mainstream media any level of trust. They are no longer objective or adversarial. It's not necesarily who owns the mainstream media outlets it's more about access. A reporter today must their P's and Q's or they could find themselves denied access.
