Guess again!
Mr. Barringer:

That is exactly the king of ignorance I was speaking of. I HAVE Linux on both of my home machines; I have a copy of Xandros dual-booted with XP Pro on my machine at work plus an older test machine with "Linspire" installed. I use Microsoft because 95% of the business world where I earn my living uses it. And please don't tell me the there are equivalents for Microsoft software on Linux. They are NOT "equivalent"! We have had copies of Open Office, both the free copy and the version that Sun charges for two years. For simple stuff they work fine but in a real business, they don't hold a candle to the MS stuff.

Also, I don't have the budget to have to retrain everyone I hire to use Linux and Linux software. Currently, 9 out of 10 people I hire know how to use Office and the other common MS tools. Maybe someday that will change.

By the way, we are a software development firm creating banking applications and we were all pretty much anti-MS when we started but not anymore. MS Stuff just works and when you are trying to make payroll for 35 other people every month, that is important. And using Linux in the product development would not save us enough money to amount to a hill of beans.

We priced it out.

And I resent being called Shill.

We have brains in our company and we use them than you very much!
