Re: Open Source and Pay
Well, I use linux and it is open source and I can surf in safety, it has absolutely no viri, and no one can hack into my system, wow, say that about Windows!

Why do it for free? So we can take all the money from greedy corporations like M$, Symantec and Sun to name just a few. They all make horrible lousy products anyways we need to just roll them under with the more secure and open source code public domain FREE licensing. I mean wow, did you pay for Mozilla lately?

If companies pay for the developement they own it! Why have the fee (license fee really, isn't it?)go to the big greedy corporations?

I suggest they use all of their software that they write to use it for traditional commodity commerce.

If you have read this far in this post, it is only fair to tell you that this whole thread is sarcastic. I was playing devil's advocate to see what kind of responses I would get being as radical as Matrixdomain and some of the other Linux users on ZDNet. I actually agree with you 100% and I am a closed source programmer (and before anyone starts on me I have done open source projects). Your points are right on and something these boys don't get. Why should all of the programmers do open source and not get paid for it when they create something?
