You have a valid point. And my view is not a PR view. I work first hand on Windows and Novell servers. I admit I do not have much experience with linux, but I am not just some two bit consumer. On my network I have 4 Windows Servers and 3 Novell Servers and our Web Server is a Windows 2000 Server. I and other IT members take the necessary steps and time to make sure our servers are secure and stable. We monitor for suspicious activity and can honestly say that not much happens. To give you a little insight on what field I work in, I am the Network Admin of a local High School. Which means I have about 2700 students and some of them think it is fun to try to hack the network. The good thing about that is it helps us find any weaknessess that may exist. Our Windows Servers are quite stable and I find I need to reboot my Novell servers more than the Windows ones. But hey, thats me. I guess I just see it as there is no real alternative for a consumer OS on a PC. I have seen LinSpire and it is really bad and 99% of PC users could not handle another OS. Hell, they can barely handle Windows and Windows is so easy. I guess my point is that there are means of protecting yourself on a computer and most people (including businesses) choose to ignore it. So I am through arguing over which is OS is better, but I hate the fact that people slam Microsoft so quickly. If you or any other person can make an Operating system that is easy to use and totally secure. Go at it. Of course now the MAC addicts with throw out MAC OS.
