I can answer that.
"What did Microsoft EVER do to YOU personally to incur such wrath, hatred, sheer spite and bile?"

They stole intellectual property from Apple and tried to put them out of business. They used their monopoly to put Netscape and hundreds of other innovative companies out of business. They have created a business environment in which a people are afraid to take risks because they see what Microsoft has done to these companies. They have used their monopoly power to force companies into thinking they have to use Windows and force all their employees to use Windows and all their other crappy products, even though they hate them and are far less productive than they would be if they could use the tools of their choice.

Microsoft deserves all the venom they get. They are a miserable excuse for a company, and the sooner their stain is erased from the tech industry the better.

And talk about FUD, claiming that Microsoft's demise would hurt the economy is the worst kind of FUD. You act as if people wouldn't find jobs with the companies that would flourish in Microsoft's absence. I have no doubt that the economy would soar if Microsoft went out of business. It would be the greatest thing to happen to the tech industry since Apple invented the personal computer.
