Could have been cured long ago
Bill Gates could have brought virus/worm/spyware to a screeching halt YEARS ago by using some of his billions to finance a "flying corps" of Furies to track down virus and malware authors, drag their sorry butts out into the street, and cut off their hands with a machete into the nearest stinking open sewer.

Unless and until Gates et al. want to get proactive, we will continue t have the problems.
