Yeah I guess I should qualify my statement better

I should have added "out of the box" or "brand new" or something along those lines. You are right as ANY product grows in age the consumer has more responsibility to insure the continued worthyness of the product (example) scandisc, defrag, AV etc updates as you would your vehicle.

Ya know I hate BestBuy but I have to give them credit they do insure the computer is current on security updates and try to upgrade the AV software before the box leaves the store. They do try to give the peecee abuser a headsup on the issues of security. I would like to see more of those proactive action across the board.

Sigh, as technology "gets better" seems the more we have to worry. Thus the conundrum of "fault".
