Stop with the OS bashing
First, there is no way to close every hole in an OS. The only way is if they kept testing it...forever. No one is good enough to find every hole.

MS is very good about plugging there holes at a fast rate. The reason virus attacks hit windows the most is because most people use it. If mac's or linux boxes where used more, they would be the ones having all the problems.

And as for your example, wake up...I have owned many cars and guess what, all of the have had problems. Do you know what the two biggest issues for car recalls are? Airbags and breaks! Now, those are very big safty issues. And even if you have been able to get cars that have not had those types of recalls, then your car has at least had something wrong that needed a recall.

Before anyone jumps on the fact that linux does not have the bugs and holes that windows does is kidding themselfs. Linux is stable and secure if you know what to do...the problem is, you can't know everything to make it 100% stable and secure. There is holes in every distro and some that span all of them. The other problem, if its not something that affects everyone, the chance of a fix coming soon is next to nill. Yes you can fix most holes yourself if you know exactly what is happening and know how to program. But if you work for a company that demands 99% uptime, you can not be taking a server down to attempt to fix it. If you screw up, its your butt on the line and in the end more then likely fired.

So the best course of action is to wait for a some what offical patch to be released. At least with MS, you know it will not take long since they know its their lively hood on the line. Anyone that thinks they take to long or does not want to be botherd with fixing holes and bugs live in a dream world.

Ok enough ranting happy
