Research: Spyware industry worth billions

It is amazing

that the ms-winows PC industry has turned into a swamp of rotting animals, ie, applications and infrastrcture. The deadly swamp is rapidly contaminating the entire system.

It just defies logic: people spent OVER and OVER plenty of cash to

- buy systems which offer only cosmetic improvements from major release to release

- patch, repatch, re-repatch, install, re-install, de-install, de-re-install ..... s/w with tons of patches every so often,

- suffer data or machine hijacking from remote places

- get infected by all kinds of viruses an malware

- suffer system and network degradation with the tons of spyware running on their PCs

- keep listening to all the vapor crapware about the next graphical engine the want and the new file system that indexes better...

and all that for what?

only for the CONVENIENCE of GUI driven workgroup office environment.....

It simply defies logic and goes to prove that people can be EASILY manipulated to waste time and money. And that because their basic weakness is CONVENIENCE !!!!

I guess in the long run one gets what he deserves.
